The New York University men's tennis team fell to host Skidmore College 9-0 on Saturday, March 2 in Saratoga Springs, NY.
With the loss, the Violets' spring season record sits at 2-1, while Skidmore improves to 4-0.
In doubles play,
Zeb Zheng and
Lucas Biondi fought hard in the #1 match, but ultimately came up short, falling 8-4.
In singles play, the Violets had a few really strong matches, but ultimately could not secure a win.
Vishal Walia (#1) and
Stefan Rodic (#2) both took their matches to three sets, but fell 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 and 4-6, 4-6, 6-2, respectively.
Yanik Parsch also played well in the #4 match, losing 7-5, 7-6.
"This is a tough match to lose," said Assistant Coach
Ben Lee. "The guys have been working hard on the court and with their training, but we need to work harder upstairs to be better competitors. Not an acceptable loss, but we learned from it and will get better."
The Violets will look to bounce back on Saturday, March 9, when they travel to Haverford, PA, to face Haverford College.
