OFFICIAL RESULTS
The New York University men's tennis team defeated Salisbury University 5-4 on Sunday, March 10, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx.
The Violets improved to 3-2 on the year with the win, while Salisbury dropped to 5-3.
In doubles play, the men salvaged only one win as
Rahul Das and
Lucas Biondi won the #2 match 8-2.
The Violets turned it around in singles play. Das won the #3 match 7-5, 6-4, Biondi won the #6 match 7-5, 6-2, and
Yanik Parsch won the #4 match 6-2, 7-5. In the decisive final match,
Joshua Piatos dropped the first set 7-5. However, he came back to win the next two sets 7-5 and 6-2 to seal the win for the Violets.
"The team bounced back well from yesterday," Assistant Coach
Eric Halpern said. "We displayed some great mental toughness out there. We made a big statement showing our depth today with our wins at 3, 4, 5, and 6 singles."
The men return to the court on Saturday, March 16, when they face The College of New Jersey at 11am in Ewing, NJ.
