The New York University men's tennis team defeated Baruch College 9-0 on Sunday, February 24, at the Washington Township Tennis Club in Washington Township, NJ.
The Violets' season record now sits at 2-0, while Saturday's match was the season-opener for the Bearcats.
NYU won all three matches in doubles play. Stefan Rodic and Lucas Biondi won the #1 match 8-2, Rahul Das and Levi Shlyankevich won the #2 match 8-2, and Vishal Walia and Zeb Zheng won the #3 match 8-3.
In singles play, the men also won each match comfortably, sweeping their way to the win without dropping more than two games in any set.
"A great end to a great weekend," said Assistant Coach Ben Lee. "The guys came out ready to play and were locked in right out of the gates. Very few errors from our racquets, and overall clean, tactical tennis. We are highly confident in ourselves as we move forward with our season."
The Violets' next match will take place on Saturday, March 2, when they take on Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY at 12 PM.
