Women's Tennis Opens Season at Haverford

Violets Win 9-0

NYU vs. Haverford Official Results

The New York University women's tennis team opened its season with a 9-0 win on Saturday, February 23, against host Haverford College in Haverford, PA.

In singles play, Coco Kulle won her #1 matchup 2-6, 6-2, 10-5.  Anna Maria Buraya won the #2 match 6-1, 6-1. Fleura Shiyanova won the #3 match6-0, 6-0.  Rupa Ganesh won the #4 match 6-0, 6-2.  Judy Kam won the #5 match 6-1, 6-4.  Kate Shaffer won the #6 match 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles play, Kulle and Shiyanova won #1 doubles 8-4.  Buraya and Kam won #2 doubles 8-4.  Ganesh and Shaffer won #3 doubles 8-3.  

"I was happy to see everyone compete well and support each other," Assistant Coach Jennifer Kellner said. "It was good to start the season with wins across the board and hopefully build some confidence for our match tomorrow."

The Violets are back on the court tomorrow, February 24, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx at 12:00 PM, when they take on Christopher Newport University.
