The New York University men's tennis team suffered its first setback of the season, falling 8-1 to host Skidmore College on Saturday, March 3, in Saratoga Springs, NY.
NYU is now 2-1 this season, while Skidmore remained perfect through three matches.
The Violets' lone victory of the day came from
Rahul Das and
Vishal Walia, who were 8-4 winners at #3 doubles.
"We were competitive in the doubles, but there was a bit of a let down in the singles and Skidmore stepped it up," said NYU Head Coach
Horace Choy. "They got off to good starts and put pressure on us. We will learn from this and move forward."
NYU returns to action tomorrow when it travels to Hamilton, NY, to take on Division I Colgate University at 10am.
"We expect to rebound tomorrow against Colgate," Choy added.
