The New York University men's swimming & diving teams traveled to Williamstown, MA, to take on host Williams College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Friday afternoon, January 19.
NYU (5-1) defeated the host Ephs 174-119 and was defeated by MIT 177-23.
"We swam against two of the top teams in the nation today and it was great to see the team step up to the challenge," said Head Coach
Trevor Miele. "We are in the middle of the hardest training cycle of the season, so to see them step up and race today was exactly what we were looking for."
The Violets were led by
Ian Rainey, who won a pair of events. He took first in the 400-yard IM (4:04.05) and the 200-yard butterfly (1:51.55)
Tim Kou also took home a first-place finish as he won the 100-yard breaststroke in 57.38.
On the diving boards,
Connor Brisson continued his successful senior season as he swept the one-meter (405.90) and three-meter (359.35) dives.
The Violets will be right back in the pool tomorrow, January 20, when they make the trip to the outskirts of Philadelphia to take on West Chester University. The meet is slated to begin at 2pm.
