UAA Men's Basketball 30th Anniversary Team

The University Athletic Association (UAA) named five Violets to its 30th Anniversary All-Association Men's Basketball Team on Thursday, January 11.

The team consists of 39 student-athletes who were either named Player of the Year or accumulated five or more points with two points awarded for All-Association First Team recognition, and one point for Second Team honors in their career.

The men's team includes NYU's Jason Boone '07, Adam Crawford '94, Jesse Determann '98, Justin Hoffman '02, and Evan Kupferberg '16. Boone, Crawford, Determann, and Hoffman were all named to the 25th anniversary All-UAA team.

Boone was named UAA Player of the Year in 2006, UAA Rookie of the year in 2004, First Team All-UAA in 2006 and 2007, and Second Team All-UAA in 2005. He scored 1,319 points during his collegiate career, tied for eighth in NYU history. He is fifth all-time in rebounds (841) and free throws (326) in addition to being the Violets' all-time leader in blocks (206) and field-goal percentage (.636). He helped lead NYU to the 2007 ECAC Metro Championship, the first postseason championship in program history.

Crawford earned UAA Player of the Year honors in 1994, leading the Violets to the NCAA Division III National Championship Game and a 25-5 overall record. He earned First Team All-UAA recognition in 1993 and 1994 and Second Team recognition in 1992. In addition to compiling 1,503 career points (fifth all-time), he is NYU's all-time leader in steals (243) and is fifth in three-point field goals (181).

Determann was named UAA Player of the Year and First Team All-UAA in 1998, leading the Violets to the NCAA Division III tournament that year, their last appearance until the 2011-12 season.

Hoffman is NYU's only honoree not to be named UAA Player of the Year, earning Second Team honors in 2000 and First Team honors in 2001 and 2002. He totaled 1,197 points in his career, which ranks 17th all-time.

Kupferberg received UAA Player of the Year honors in 2016 and garnered First Team All-UAA recognition in 2014, 2015 and 2016. He is the fourth-leading scorer (1,551) and third-leading rebounder (886) in Violet history. He scored with prolific volume and efficiency, possessing the second-best field goal percentage (.575) and third-most field goals (621) in school history as well.
