Four members of the New York University men's and women's golf teams were named to their respective University Athletic Association (UAA) All-Association Team on Thursday, May 4.
Junior
Alyssa Poentis and sophomores
Jenni Bluetling and
Patty Treevichaphan were named to the women's First Team, while
Luke Oberholtzer was named to the men's Second Team.
Poentis has been named First Team All-UAA during all three of her years as a Violet, while Bluetling has been selected in each of her first two seasons. This is Treevichaphan's and Oberholtzer's first-career All-UAA honor.
The women's trio were the top-three golfers on the Violets in scoring average, top-fives and top-10s, and helped lead the team to a
#4 national ranking by Golfstat.com and a berth at the NCAA Championship.
Oberholtzer was second on the squad with a 78.0 scoring average and recorded one top-five, two top-10s and four top-20s in six events, helping the team to a third-place finish at the Liberty League Championship.
The women's golf team will send a contingent of five players to the NCAA Championship tournament, which is being held Tuesday-Friday, May 9-12, at Bay Oaks Golf Club in Houston, TX.
