The New York University women's golf team, currently ranked #12 by
Golfstat.com, captured the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship title at the Hammock Beach Golf Club in Palm Beach, FL, on Sunday, March 12.
After shooting 321 on day two, NYU finished with a score of 665 on Sunday to overcome Washington University in St. Louis' lead from day one.
"The weather today gave the team more confidence, and it showed," said Head Coach
Brad Johnson. "Our score dropped by 22 shots and we won by 10 strokes. We haven't had a lot of chances to play on a golf course, but we showed how great of a team we can be. Great to come back and win the tournament."
Sophomore

"Unbelievable!" added Johnson. "She shot a 35 on the front and played some great golf."
Following her strong performance on Saturday, sophomore
Jenni Bluetling secured second behind her teammate shooting an overall score of 164 (78-86). On her heels was junior
Alyssa Poentis, who finished tied for third place with a score of 165 (84-81) over the weekend.
