The New York University men's tennis team returned to the court on Wednesday, March 30, and dropped a 6-3 decision to The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ.
The Violets (2-4), who hadn't played a match since March 13, were swept in doubles but rallied for three singles wins against the Lions (4-1).
One of the doubles matches resulted in a 9-8 (8-6) tiebreaker loss, while another was a close 9-7 defeat.
"I thought the guys competed well after the disappointing doubles result," said NYU Head Coach Horace Choy. "We had some chances. but TCNJ made more of their opportunities."
NYU did make a strong comeback, winning at #1-3 singles, but were thwarted at #4-6.
"We split the six singles matches with good play from Sidd, Ben and Matt," Choy added. "But, it's hard to give someone a 3-0 lead and come back."The College of New Jersey 6, New York University 3
