The New York University men's tennis team lost to Skidmore College by a score of 7-2 on Saturday, March 7, in Saratoga Springs, NY.
For the second straight week, junior Sidd Thangirala and freshman Ian Combemale earned a win at #1 doubles, this time by a score of 9-8 (5). However, Skidmore won the final two doubles matches to head into singles play with a 2-1 lead.
"We came out of doubles in a pretty good spot," said NYU Head Coach Horace Choy. "We got a big win from Sidd and Ian at #1."
In singles play, Skidmore won the first two matches and never looked back, winning five of the six matches overall to improve to 5-1 on the season. The Violets fall to 0-2.
"Skidmore came out and played well," added Choy. "The matches were close, but Skidmore was a little bit better today."OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:- Combemale earned the Violets' only singles win, defeating Skidmore's Steven Koulouris at #3 by a score of 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.
