ResultsNew York University's men's swimming & diving team defeated SUNY Cortland 196-90 in its their season-opening dual meet on Saturday, October 10, at the Palladium Athletic Facilitiy (PAF) in Manhattan.

"It was a really good start today. We swam better than I expected," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "Some freshmen really stepped up and performed. We're definitely ahead of where we were last year at this time, and we've got a lot of work ahead of us. But, we're headed in the right direction."HIGHLIGHTS:- Sophomore
Austin Palmer won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:45.88.

Phillip Kang took first in the 200-yard backstroke (1:54.01) and the 200-yard butterfly (1:54.36).

Sophomore diver Dylan Adler swept the one-meter and three-meter competitions with respective scores of 190.73 and 221.63 points."It was a great day for Dylan. He competed extremely well today," said Diving Coach Scott Donie.The Violets' next competition will be the University of Rochester Invitational, which will be held Friday-Saturday, October 23-24, in Rochester, NY.
