The New York University men's tennis team travels to the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship this weekend, which is being held at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, FL, from Thursday, April 24, through Saturday, April 26.
According to the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, the Violets are currently ranked
#25 in the nation and
#5 in the Northeast Region.
NYU (7-1) has won its last three matches, with its only loss coming at UAA foe University of Rochester, then ranked #16 in the Northeast.
The Violets are seeded seventh out of the eight teams in the tournament. NYU begins play against #2-seeded Emory University (15-5) on Thursday, April 24, at 9:00 am. The Eagles are ranked #4 in the nation.

Steven Wu has put together a phenomenal season, moving up the individual rankings to
#2 in the Northeast region. This season, the Hillsborough, NJ, native is undefeated in singles, highlighted by a straight-set win (6-2, 6-2) over Oliver Loutsenko, then ranked #3 nationally, of Skidmore College.
Aaron Meltzer, ranked #22 in the Northeast, has also put together a strong sophomore season. The Bonita, CA, native is 6-0 in singles from the #2 and #3 spots. Together, Meltzer and Wu are ranked #10 in doubles in the Northeast.
Also competing at the UAA Championship will be five other nationally ranked teams -- #2 Washington University-St.Louis, #9 Carnegie Mellon University, #10 Case Western Reserve University, #17 University of Chicago, and #30 Brandeis University. The tournament's #8-seed Rochester is unranked nationally.
