Steven Wu was the lone New York University men's tennis player competing at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championships on the tournament's final day, advancing to the singles championship before dropping two sets to champion Oliver Loutsenko of Skidmore College.
The Championships were hosted by Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY, from Friday to Sunday, September 20-22.
Highlights
- In the semifinals, Wu took care of #3 seed Jimmy Sherpa in straight sets, winning 6-2, 6-3.
- In his next match, against top seed Loutsenko, Wu was shut out in the first set, losing 6-0.
- Wu battled back in the second set but still lost 6-4, ending his stellar run.

The Violets will be back in action from Octoboer 10-12 at the ITA National Championships, which will take place at the Three Oaks Tennis Center in Mobile, AL.
