Celebrating its silver anniversary, the University Athletic Association (UAA) continued its series of All-Association 25-Year teams with the announcement of the men's basketball team. Four former New York University players, Adam Crawford (Class of 1994), Jesse Determann (Class of 1998), Justin Hoffman (Class of 2002), and Jason Boone (Class of 2007), were among the 34 student-athletes honored.

The UAA 25-Year teams consist of student-athletes who were named Player of the Year or accumulated at least five points in their careers, with two points awarded for All-Association First Team recognition and one point for Second Team honors.

Crawford earned UAA Player of the Year honors as a senior, leading the Violets to the NCAA Division III National Championship Game and a 25-5 overall record in 1993-94. He also served as a captain and enjoyed one of the best individual seasons in NYU history, averaging 16.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game from the guard position. He also poured in 61 three-pointers while amassing 72 steals and 117 assists over the course of the season.

During his four-year career, Crawford left an indelible mark on the Violet record books. In addition to compiling 1,503 career points (fourth all-time), he ended his career as NYU's all-time leader in both steals and three-point field goals made. His mark of 243 steals remains the Violet standard, while his 181 three-pointers is still good for fourth all-time. In honor of his stellar career, Crawford was inducted to the NYU Athletics Hall of Fame in 1999.

Determann's stellar senior season led to him being named UAA Player of the Year in 1997-98. He proved to be a force inside, averaging 13.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game that season. A team captain that season, his leadership helped the Violets qualify for the NCAA Tournament, their most recent appearance until NYU's second-round run of 2011-12.

Hoffman is NYU's only honoree not to be named UAA Player of the Year, earning Second Team honors as a sophomore and First Team honors as a junior and senior. He poured in 1,197 points over his four-year career, averaging 11.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game over the span. A two-time team captain, Hoffman ranks 15th on the Violets' all-time scoring list. His most impressive season came as a senior in 2001-02, when he averaged 16.2 points and grabbed 6.7 rebounds per game.

Boone's 2005-06 junior season was so impressive, averaging 15.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, that he managed to be named UAA Co-Player of the Year despite missing the final three games of the UAA schedule due to injury. He followed up that performance with a senior season in which he posted 14.1 points and 9.6 rebounds per game en route to being named First Team All-UAA and D3hoops.com Third Team All-American. Boone also captained the 2006-07 squad, which captured the ECAC Metro Championship, the first postseason championship in program history. He holds NYU records for career field goal percentage (63.6%) and total blocks (206), and is also sixth on the all-time scoring list at 1,319 points.

"I've had the honor of coaching all four of these players," said NYU Head Coach Joe Nesci. "They are all worthy of being included on this outstanding list of student-athletes who have represented both their institutions and the UAA at a very, very high level."
