New York University's men's swimming & diving team defeated Brandeis University (294-64), but fell to Carnegie Mellon University (246-122), Case Western Reserve University (250-120) and host University of Rochester (218-150) on the second day of competition at the Rochester Invitational. The meet took place on Friday and Saturday, October 26-27.

Despite NYU only winning one of the dual meets, Jerry Crowley put on a top-notch performance. Not only was he part of Friday's winning 200-yard freestyle relay team, but he was also triumphant in three individual events. Crowley won the 50-yard freestyle (21.28), the 100-yard freestyle (46.96) and the 100-yard butterfly (50.66).

Highlights:

- Diver Austen Blease added a win in the three-meter dive to his impressive record after posting a score of 334.15.

- Adam Winerip finished fourth in the three-meter dive with a score of 242.85.

- Cole Talbott (4:59.06) and Dan Isaacson (4:59.95) finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 500-yard freestyle race.

"We had great performances by all of our divers this weekend against a lot of our fellow UAA competitors," said Diving Coach Scott Donie. "That should help when we meet again later this season."

The Violets return to action on Friday, November 3, when they host Stevens Institute of Technology at the Palladium Athletic Facility.
