The teams return to the pool on Saturday.

The New York University men's and women's swimming and diving teams open their seasons on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Palladium Athletic Facility. They will be hosting SUNY New Paltz and Stevens Institute of Technology in the NYU Invitational.

The men are coming off a 7-1-1 dual-meet season and a 24th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. Head coach Bob Sorensen will look for strong performances from senior captain Andy King, and seniors Bryson Naylor and Eric Pcholinski, a seven-time All-American. Junior Max Norris, a four-time University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week last season, is the top returning diver.

On the women's side, senior co-captains Danielle Hildebrandt and Kacey McCaffrey, as well senior Patricia Beck, the 2009 UAA Women's Swimmer of the Year, will lead a squad that finished the season with a 9-1 dual-meet record and a second-place finish at the UAA Swimming & Diving Championships. Head coach Lauren Beam has other top returnees in junior Chelsea Pfohl and sophomore Molly Rippe. Both were All-Americans a year ago. Junior diver Amanda Moffa is expected to make a splash, as well.

The meet will start at 1:00 pm. Results will be available on goNYUathletics.com.
