Checking in at #7 in the #NYUAthleticsTop10 are the New York University men's and women's basketball teams and their performances at the 2016 NCAA Division III Basketball Tournaments.
After successful regular seasons, both teams received at-large bids to their respective tournaments. Each team won its first-round matchup and advanced to the second round.
The women overcame a 15-point second-quarter deficit before rallying to defeat Lehman College 70-63 in the opening round, while the men never trailed and used a 9-0 run midway through the second half in its 86-67 victory over Brooklyn College.
It was the second consecutive season that the women advanced to the second round, while the men returned for the first time since 2012.
