Kicking off the 2015-16 #NYUAthleticsTop10 are the numerous academic awards garnered by student-athletes over the course of the season.
Violet competitors totaled 208 University Athletic Association (UAA) All-Academic accolades across the fall, winter and spring seasons. The men's track & field team led the way with 19 team members honored.
Thirty-six NYU student-athletes received Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports-Scholar Awards. Megan Dawe and Kaitlyn Read of the women's basketball team earned College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) All-District 3 academic honors, as did Lily Corsaro (women's cross country & track & field) John Messinger (wrestling) and Austin Palmer (men's swimming).
Three NYU wrestlers were named National Wrestling Coaches of America (NWCA) Scholar All-Americans: Messinger, Dylan Lojac and Raymond Jazikoff.
Additionally, NYU's men's and women's swimming & diving and wrestling squads were named Scholar All-America Teams by their respective coaching organizations.
