Nicole Lubell returns to her alma mater this season as an assistant coach with the New York University women’s volleyball team.

A 2008 graduate of NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, Lubell was a two-year member of the Violets’ volleyball squad. As a senior, she was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player and received Honorable Mention All-UAA (University Athletic Association) recognition.

In addition to her athletic exploits, Lubell received UAA All-Academic honors and the NYU Student-Athlete Academic Achievement award.

Prior to coming to NYU, Lubell attended San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, CA, where she played varsity volleyball for two seasons. As a sophomore, she helped lead the Mustangs to a second-place finish in the California Community College State Tournament.

From 2002-06, Lubell worked at the St. Mary’s High School Volleyball Camp in Lodi, CA, where she coached girls ages 9-18.

After graduating from NYU, Lubell spent two months teaching English to children in Trang, Thailand, as part of the Cross Cultural Solutions Volunteer Program. She also interned at Major League Soccer in the Special Events Department for six months.

A native of Lodi, Lubell resides in New York City.
