Darren Baptiste is in his first season as an assistant coach with the New York University women’s volleyball team.

No stranger to NYU, Baptiste has worked in the Equipment Room at the Coles Sports Center for the past nine years, serving as Weekend Supervisor for the past three years.

A 2000 graduate of NYU’s Steinhardt School of Education with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Baptiste has worked as a volunteer practice assistant with the Violets’ women’s and men’s volleyball teams for the past five years. He continues to play in recreational volleyball leagues around New York City, including the NY Urban League and the Big City Volleyball League.

A native of London, England, Baptiste currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
