Paul Snyder is in his second year as an assistant coach with the New York University men's and women's track & field teams. His primary responsibilities include assisting in the recruiting process.
Snyder’s first indoor track season at NYU was highlighted with a fourth-place finish by the men’s team at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships. Senior Zac Kish finished third in the 800m with a time of 1:55.19 and ran with teammates sophomore Budd Brown, sophomore Chevaun Samuels and freshman Malcolm Montilus on the Violets’ third-place 4x400m relay team.
The outdoor season was also a success, as two members of the men’s team qualified for the NCAA Championships. Brown competed in the 400m sprint while senior Johnny Lake represented NYU in the 3,000m steeplechase. The women’s season was highlighted by a second-place finish from junior Kristina Harris in the 100m sprint at the UAA Championships.
Snyder came to NYU after a successful collegiate career at Columbia University. A 2013 graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American history, Snyder spent four seasons on the Lions’ cross country and track & field squads.
At Columbia, Snyder’s career was highlighted in 2011 when he was a part of the first team in school history to qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championship. During the same season, he qualified for the 2011 NCAA East Regional Championships in the 5,000m. Additionally, Snyder won the event at the 2013 Texas Relays.
Since graduating from Columbia, Snyder has worked as a freelance copywriter for Nike NYC.
