Odrine Belot the New York University men’s and women’s track & field teams as an assistant coach prior to the 2017-18 season. Her main responsibilities include working with the squad’s jumpers.
In 2018-19, junior Evelyn Nkanga qualified for the Indoor NCAA Championships in the triple jump and just missed earning All-America honors by one place. She did, however, capture the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Indoor Triple Jump Championship.
On the men’s side, senior William Lee earned Second Team (Outdoors) and Third Team (Indoors) All-UAA (University Athletic Association) accolades in the high jump.
Belot’s debut season in ’17-18 was a rousing success, as Nkanga earned All-America status after placing fourth in the triple jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships. She also set a new NYU indoor triple jump record of 11.90m, won the event at the University Athletic Association UAA Indoor Championships, took second at the UAA Outdoor Championships and was named UAA Athlete of the Week on February 5. Nkanga went on to earn United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Atlantic Region accolades.
On the men’s side, Zachary Adams recorded first-place finishes in the triple jump at both the Vassar College Invitational and the Princeton Indoor Invitational.
A 2016 graduate of the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, Belot was a four-year member of the Huskies’ track & field team. The triple jump specialist qualified for the 2015 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships and was named the American Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week in February, 2015, after establishing a new conference record in the event (13.03m).
Belot is no stranger to the New York City track & field scene, having spent nearly a decade working at the New Balance Armory as an assistant meet coordinator and track coach.
