    Assistant Women's Swimming Coach

Lizzie Rippe is in her third season as an assistant women’s swimming coach at New York University. She assists head coach Lauren Beam by working with all of the swim groups, both in the pool and on dry land.

In 2010-11, NYU posted a 5-2 record in dual meets and produced a 51st-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championships, where junior swimmer Molly Rippe – Lizzie’s younger sister – competed in the 1,650 freestyle, 500 freestyle and 200 freestyle.

In Rippe’s initial campaign as an assistant, NYU finished with an 8-1 dual-meet record. The Violets produced a third-place finish at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships and a 40th-place finish at the NCAA Championships as two swimmers, Molly Rippe and Tatum Gormley, qualified for the NCAA’s.

A four-year swimmer for Dartmouth College, Rippe graduated cum laude in 2007 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and brain sciences, as well as a minor in art history. A team co-captain as a senior, she earned great distinction as a member of the Big Green, receiving Second Team All-Ivy League honors. Rippe graduated as the school record holder in the 100 butterfly and ranks in the top-10 all-time at Dartmouth in three events.

After graduating from Dartmouth, Rippe went on to earn a Master of Science degree in education from Brooklyn College in 2009.

A native of Colleyville, TX, and a Brooklyn, NY resident, Rippe was a 10-time All-American while competing for Colleyville Heritage High School.

In addition to her coaching duties at NYU, Rippe works as a Special Education Teacher at P.S. 58 in Brooklyn.
