Connor Rumpit was hired as an assistant coach of New York University's men's and women's swimming teams and an assistant natatorium manager in June 2022.
Rumpit came to NYU after working as a graduate assistant coach and teaching fellow at Springfield College from August 2020-May 2022. While there, he developed and ran workouts and training programs for the swimming team and engaged in recruiting efforts. He also taught physical education courses as part of his teaching fellow duties.
Rumpit was a four-year swimming team member at Kenyon College (2016-20), a perennial powerhouse in Division III swimming, earning All-America status three times while setting the North Coast Athletic Conference record in the 500 freestyle in 2020.
The Brookfield, WI, native also served as an assistant coach at the Elmbrook Swim Club in his hometown last summer while working as an athletic intern at Brookfield East High School.
Rumpit held a pair of positions at the Wyoming Swim Club in Wyoming, OH, during the summer of 2019, working as an assistant pool manager and Head Coach of the club's swimming program.
He took on the role of coaching assistant during his junior year at Kenyon, recording times, sitting in on recruiting meetings with coaches and providing summaries of recruits to the coaching staff.
Rumpit earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Kenyon in 2020 and a Master's of Education in Athletic Administration from Springfield in 2022.
