Michele O'Brien

    Assistant Women's Soccer Coach
The 2004 season marked Michele O’Brien’s first year as an assistant with the New York University women’s soccer program. Her primary responsibilities with the team include working with the forwards, game planning and recruiting.
A 2002 graduate of Florida International University with a degree in elementary education, O’Brien played forward for the Golden Panthers and was a two-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year. She also won FIU’s Presidential Academic Athletic Award. Her post-college playing career has included representing the Republic of Ireland, as well as playing professionally for the highly successful Arsenal Ladies Team in London, England.
O’Brien has previously coached at Plainview Old Bethpage High School on Long Island. She is currently involved with the Columbia University Soccer Camp and the Long Island Lady Riders Soccer Camp.
“We are lucky to have such a talented, knowledgeable, professional, and sincere person in our program,” said NYU head coach Amanda Vandervort. “Michele’s ambition and passion for soccer are certainly evident in her extensive playing career.”
O’Brien is a native and resident of Plainview, NY.
