A fourth-year assistant coach who joined the staff prior to the 2007 season, Michael Guerrero will continue to help the New York University women’s soccer team with recruiting and game analysis.

Guerrero’s assistance helped the Violets go 10-9-1 and earn a spot in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Tournament Championship Game last fall.

"It's fantastic to have Michael work with the NYU women's soccer program. We are very excited and fortunate to have him with us,” said NYU head coach Werner T. Dasbach. “He has vast experience coaching youth soccer throughout New York City and its five boroughs. His soccer knowledge coupled with his expertise of both video and computer technology make him an invaluable asset for the program."

Guerrero is well known in New York City soccer circles, serving as an assistant coach at Trinity High School since 2005 and helping the team win the 2006 Ivy League Championship. In addition, he has been a staff coach and senior staff member for the NYC Soccer Academy since 2004, has served as head coach for youth travel teams in Manhattan and Brooklyn, has worked as After-School Program Director for the Harlem Soccer Foundation, and is actively involved in outreach programs with the Westside Soccer League and the American Youth Soccer Organization.

A 2004 graduate of Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in visual art, Guerrero earned his United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National D Coaching License in 2008, two years after receiving his National Y Coaching License.

A native of Milwaukee, WI, Guerrero resides in Jersey City, NJ.
