Christine Bowers has completed one season as an assistant coach with the New York University women’s soccer program. She works primarily with the Violets’ goalkeepers. Under her tutelage, the Violets goalkeepers recorded 6 shutouts during the past season.
Bowers attended the University of Georgia from 1999-2002 and was a three-year member of the Bulldogs’ soccer team. After suffering a knee injury in 2000, she played in 10 games (three starts) in 2001 and posted a 1.88 goals against average. An English major with a minor in sociology, Bowers has transferred to Rutgers University and is expected to graduate in December.
In addition to her playing experience at Georgia, Bowers has also competed for the New Jersey Olympic Development Program, the Region 1 Olympic Development Program, and the Counties United Club Team.
Bowers has accumulated a wealth of coaching experience as an assistant goalkeeping coach for the NJ Olympic Development Program, as an assistant director/goalkeeping coach at the Brackie Reyes Goalkeeping Camp, and as a goalkeeping counselor at the Raider’s Soccer Camp
Bowers is a native and resident of Scotch Plains, NJ.
