Victor Lamm

Victor Lamm is in his second season as an assistant coach of the New York University’s men’s tennis team, having joined the staff prior to the 2008-09 season. He assists head coach Horace Choy in all facets of the program.

In his first season at NYU, Lamm helped the Violets post a six-win improvement over their 2006-07 total. NYU went 10-9, finished fifth at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship and ended up ranked #14 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Region.

A 2008 graduate of the University of California-Irvine with a bachelor’s degree in economics, Lamm enjoyed an illustrious four-year playing career for the Anteaters. He served as the team’s co-captain for two years and qualified for the NCAA Division I National Singles Championship as a senior. He was named the Big West Freshman of the Year and earned First Team All-Big West honors in singles twice.

“Victor’s experience at the Division I level, playing against some of the best competition in the country, has really benefited our team,” Choy said. “He relates well to people and has fit right in.”

A four-time Big West Scholar Athlete and a two-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete, Lamm was the recipient of the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar award in 2007.

Lamm, who served as an assistant coach at the Racing Club de France in 2004, is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports business at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies.

A native of Paris, Lamm resides in Manhattan.
