Biography

2014-15: Earned NCAA All-America honors in the 400-yard IM (eighth place, NYU-record 3:54.75), established a new NYU record in the 200-yard IM (1:51.60) and set a personal best in the 200-yard butterfly (1:51.47) at the NCAA Championships (3/18-21)…won the 200-yard fly in his NYU debut at Springfield (1/17)…set personal bests in the 100-yard backstroke (third place, 53.69), 200-yard back (second place, 1:55.57) and the 50-yard back (25.54) as a member of the 200-yard medley relay vs. Iona (1/24)…finished first in the 400-yard IM (3:57.64) and third in the 200-yard IM (1:51.91) at the UAA Championships (2/11-14).
 
Pre-NYU: Attended Penn State University in 2013-14 and was a member of the Nittany Lions’ swimming & diving team…competed in the 200-yard butterfly, 200-yard IM and 400-yard IM.
 
High School: Four-year team member…Scholastic All-American…senior captain...volunteered for Swim Across America.
 
Personal: Enjoys music and basketball...father played ice hockey for the South Korean national team…aspires to attend graduate school.
