Four Violets received All-UAA recognition in 2016, including junior midfielder Tristan Medios-Simon and senior captain and midfielder Petter Aasa, who were named to the Second Team. Medios-Simon was also named First Team All-ECAC Metro and led NYU with eight goals and four assists. The squad excelled in the classroom as well, with 13 players earning UAA Fall Sport All-Academic honors and 12 being named to NYU’s Intercollegiate Athletic Advisory Committee’s (IAAC) Fall Honor Roll.

Finnegan helped lead the Violets to a 6-12 record in 2015. Individually, goalkeeper Lucas Doucette, Aasa and defender Robin Smith were all named Honorable Mention All-UAA, while the entire team received the Sportsmanship Award from the New York Metro Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association (NYMISOA).

In 2014, Finnigan helped lead the Violets to an 11-7-1 overall record and to the semifinals of the ECAC Division III Metro Championship. In 2012, Finnigan helped lead NYU to its best start in program history (9-0) en route to ending the season as the ECAC Division III Metro Champions, the second title in school history and the first since 2001. The Violets climbed as high as #6 in the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America)/Continental Tire Division III national rankings en route to an overall 12-7-2 record.

Finnigan helped NYU soar to new heights in his first season on the sidelines in 2010. The Violets went 11-3-4 overall and 4-0-3 in the UAA, claiming their first-ever Association Championship. The squad climbed as high as #20 in the national rankings and earned the right to host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Division III Championship.

That year, the team broke several school and UAA records on defense, as NYU became the first squad in history to go all seven Association games without allowing a goal. The Violets broke school records for goals-against average (0.47) and consecutive shutout minutes (754:50), while tying the record for shutouts (12).

For its efforts, NYU earned UAA Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
