NYU Figure Skating is comprised of skaters of all levels. We have free skaters from high beginner through senior, including elite skaters who compete internationally, in addition to preliminary through gold and international level ice dancers. Some of our members have skated throughout their lives, while others have come back to the sport after taking a break during high school. We offer competitive and some recreational opportunities, but what every member shares is a passion for our sport.
Academics are the priority for our members, but we also strive for top results on the ice. The team practices weekly at Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers, where team members skate an additional one to four days per week, depending on their level. We compete in US Figure Skating's Intercollegiate structure, participating in the three Northeast Sectional competitions that are held every year, with the goal of qualifying for the National Championships. We realized this goal, qualifying for our first Intercollegiate Nationals, in 2020.
In addition to the above, we are involved in philanthropy and we participate in many other fun activities as a team throughout the year.
