Have you got that salsa fever? Can't keep your feet from that swingin' beat? Want to tango your way into someone's heart? Learn how to dip, spin, and shake it in the Latin and Ballroom Dance Club. The team's focus is on club-style dancing, giving dancers the knowledge that they need so they never have to sit one out!

If salsa is your favorite, we'll teach you merengue and cha-cha so you don't have to stop dancing when the music changes. You'll learn Lindy Hop and we'll show you how to take these same patterns and transform them into a slinky West Coast Swing. Have a wedding or formal event coming up? We also teach the foxtrot and the waltz-you can have confidence and avoid your partner's feet while impressing everyone with your style and grace. You've heard of the Hustle? Well, it's still alive and it isn't just for disco anymore!

No experience is necessary. No partner is necessary. All levels are welcome. Bring your favorite dancing shoes (nothing special is required, but rubber soles are not preferred).

Club Sponsored Events -Top Hat and Tails
Every November, the Latin and Ballroom Dance Club hosts Top Hat and Tails, the team's competition and semi-formal. The night starts with buffet and dancing for everyone, followed by the competition and professionals showcase. Only NYU students and alumni are eligible for this competition. Participants can compete in beginner, intermediate, advanced, alumni, or Jack and Jill categories.

Dancing in the (Open) Streets!
Join the LBDC as we build community on and off the dance floor!  Together, with the 31st Ave Open Streets initiative in Astoria, we are bringing dance lessons, socials, live music and performances to our neighbors in Queens.  The Open Streets program is city-wide, so please reach out if you would like us to bring the beats to an Open Street program near you!

Spring Social and Showcase:
The Latin and Ballroom Dance Club hosts the Spring Social and Showcase in April in the Eisner and Lubin Auditorium. Mixed in with lots of general dancing are performances put on by talented NYU students and alumni, it is a great way to end the year and show off everything club members have learned. Date and time to be announced.
