Biography

2010-11: Started all 27 games…Jewish Sports Review First Team All-American…named First Team All-UAA and Second Team All-Metropolitan…selected NYU’s Scholar Athlete of the Year…field-goal pct. ranked third in school history and 12th in Division III for the year, helping NYU post the 13th-best field-goal pct. the nation…led the Violets and finished third in the UAA in scoring…was second in the UAA in field-goal pct., sixth in blocked shots, and 12th in both rebounding and free-throw pct…scored in double figures in all but one game, including 25 in a row to end the season…scored 20-plus points eight times…led the Violets in scoring 15 times and in rebounding three times…named UAA Athlete of the Week on two occasions (2/14, 3/7)…poured in a career-high 37 points  (the most by a Violet in 21 years) in the team’s first-round win over top-seeded St. Joseph’s-Long Island in the ECAC Metro Tournament (3/2)…selected to the NYU Holiday All-Classic Team after averaging 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 66.7% from the floor in NYU’s two victories (1/2-3)…narrowly missed out on a double-double with 19 points and a season-high nine rebounds vs. Chicago (1/23)…totaled 18 points, eight boards and a career-high six assists vs. SUNY Maritime (12/30)…had season highs of three blocks vs. Chicago (1/23) and Washington (2/18)…scored 21 points in a career-high 36 minutes vs. Chicago (2/20)…Intercollegiate Athletics Advisory Committee Fall and Spring Honor Rolls.

2009-10: Started 26 of the team’s 27 games, with his first career start coming in the season opener vs. Stevens Tech (11/15)…Jewish Sports Review Honorable Mention All-American…Honorable Mention All-UAA…finished second on the team in scoring…led NYU in blocks and field-goal pct. and was third in rebounding...finished third in the UAA in blocks and in the top 20 in field-goal pct. (10th), free-throw pct. (15th), rebounding (18th), and scoring (20th)…led the Violets in scoring on five occasions and in rebounding four times…netted a season-high 21 points on 8-11 shooting in ECAC quarterfinal win over New Jersey City (3/3)…scored in double figures 15 times, including in six consecutive games down the stretch…pulled down a career-best 10 rebounds against Hunter while adding 15 points for his first career double-double(12/30) …swatted a career-high four shots to go along with 16 points and eight rebounds vs. U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (12/9)…dished out a season-high four assists in a season-high 31 minutes vs. Chicago (2/12)…named UAA Athlete of the Week (1/20) after averaging 17.0 points on 60.6% shooting in three contests…Intercollegiate Athletics Advisory Committee Spring Honor Roll.

2008-09: Led the team’s rookies with 21 games played, all as a reserve…contributed eight points and four rebounds in the ECAC Metro Tournament semifinal vs. Rutgers-Newark (3/7)…blocked a season-best two shots and added five points at Chicago (2/8)…played a season-high 16 minutes and drained his first collegiate three-pointer in a six-point performance at Washington (2/6)…paced the Violets with seven points (3-3 FG) and a season-high five rebounds at Brandeis (1/17)…tallied a season-best 10 points (5-6 FG) in 10 minutes vs. Connecticut College (11/23).

High School: Four-year team starter and senior captain…graduated as the school’s all-time leading rebounder (672) and shot blocker (288)…became the second male player ever to reach 1,000 points (1,068), and ranked second on the school’s all-time scoring list…only player in program history with 1,000 points and 600 rebounds…named All-Area twice each by the Allentown Morning Call and The Express Times…worked in the city park program and volunteered as a youth basketball coach…recipient of the George B. Yasso Scholarship.

Personal: Composes and writes his own music…has played the piano for 12 years…also plays the guitar and xylophone…retro video game and electronics fanatic…hopes to work in sound design for motion pictures and/or Pixar.
