The New York University women's golf team ended day one in second out of 18 teams at the Tartan Invitational on Monday, September 28, at Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, PA.
NYU completed the opening two rounds with a four-under-par 572. The Violets followed an opening-round 287 (-1) with a three-under-par 285, sitting nine strokes back of Emory.
Inha Jun has led NYU's team contingent, currently tied for fourth in the 98-player field with a two-round score of 140 (-4). Jun carded matching two-under-par 70s in each round.
Sonia Hao, competing as an individual, is also tied for fourth at 140 (-4) after firing a five-under-par 67 in the second round. Her round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-four 16th hole.
Jiarui Li sits in seventh at 142 (-2) after shooting a three-under-par 69 on Monday.
Naomi Tan is in 16th at 145 (+1) after an even-par 72 to end the day.
Elisa Xue finds herself in 21st at 147 (+3) following rounds of 71 and 76, while
Jiayi Fu sits in 23rd at 148 (+4) after carding consecutive 74s.
NYU's four counting scores in Monday's second round came from Li's 69, Jun's 70, Tan's 72 and Fu's 74, combining for the Violets' three-under-par 285.
The Violets will be back in action tomorrow morning, September 29, to finish the Tartan Invitational.
