The New York University men's and women's diving teams returned to action on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Diving Invitational. The meet was hosted by RPI in Troy, N.Y.
Divers from NYU, RPI and Skidmore had the option to compete in six-dive or 11-dive programs.
"This was our last meet before going to the UAA Championships and we came in and crushed it," said Diving Head Coach
In the one-meter, six-dive men's competition
Makai Harder led the field with a 248.80 score. NYU's
Jake Lloyd took third.
Nolan Jennings took first in the one-meter, 11-dive competition, recording a 468.95 score.
William McAlpin took second for the Violets, scoring 391.50 points.
Lloyd was the lone competitor in the three-meter, six-dive portion, scoring 146.55 points.
Jennings (486.40) was the top scorer in the three-meter, 11-dive competition, ahead of Harder (451.55) in second place.
"Saturday was successful overall for the men's team," said Kolean. "Makai put up another regional qualifying score, and Nolan had the best meet of his NYU career."
In the women's competition,
Meera Kasturi (307.85) and
Katherine Taylor (295.40) took first and second, respectively, in the three-meter, six-dive competition.
Maya Williams (515.85) and
Isabella Reyes (495.75) led the way in the three-meter, 11-dive action.
Kasturi (273.80) and Taylor (267.75) repeated their finish in the one-meter, six-dive program. Williams (488.20) and Reyes (467.55) also topped the leaderboard in the one-meter, 11-dive competition.

The Violet divers head to the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships next, held Feb. 11-14, at the University of Chicago.
