The New York University men's and women's cross country teams kick off the postseason on Halloween, as the Violets vie for the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships. This year's championship race will be hosted by the University of Chicago at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Edwardsville, IL on Saturday, October 31.
The women's and men's team are currently ranked #1 and #9 nationally, respectively, in the USTFCCCA national coaches poll entering championship season.
The Violets dominated the field at the 2025 UAA Championships; scoring first in both races as a team as well as boasting individual winners Ashlyn Pallotta for the women and Theodore Udelson-Nee for the men.
NYU enters this weekend's championship races with two weeks of preparation under their belts. The team most recently competed at SUNY Geneseo's Mike Woods Invitational, where the women's team took first place and the men scored third place. The lead runner for the women, Josephine Dziedzic, placed first with a time of 21:17.7, and the top scorer for the men, Edomias Mulugeta, finished fifth with a time of 25:17.8.
Saturday's women's championship race is scheduled to begin at 2:15 PM Eastern, with the men to follow at 3:00 PM Eastern.
