The New York University men's volleyball team has been selected to finish second in the 2026 United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Preseason Coaches Poll. Tallying 41 points, including two first place votes, the Violets were tied with SUNY New Paltz for second and slotted behind first-place Vassar College, who totaled 44 points.
NYU returned 12 players from a 2025 team that finished the regular season 23-0 and went on win the UVC Championship for the second year in a row. The Violets also hosted the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament last year and won their first round matchup against Baruch College.
Among returning players are
Devyn Nguyen and
Emerson Evans, both of whom were selected to the All-UVC teams. Nguyen was also named the conference's Co-Player of the Year, while Evans earned the UVC Championship Most Valuable Player honors.
In addition to its returning players, NYU has a robust freshman class of 10 newcomers.
The Violets begin their 2026 campaign in Santa Cruz, CA on Friday, January 16, against Concordia University, hosted by the University of California, Santa Cruz.
