The New York University men's soccer match at Rutgers-Camden on Saturday, September 6, began at 1:00pm but could not be completed due to weather issues.
Numerous lightning delays, which included the mandated 30-minute clearance of the field, eventually caused the game to be canceled.
The score was 0-0 early in the second half.
An NCAA match must must be played for at least 70 minutes, or it is considered a "no contest".
The first delay happened with 3:48 remaining in the first half. After play resumed and the teams agreed to a short five-minute halftime, the second half went only 4:39 before another delay was forced by lightning.
The game was officially called at the 49:39 mark. No statistics are counted.
The Violets are scheduled to return to the pitch on Monday, September 8, when they host Stockton University at 7pm at Lubetkin Field in Newark, NJ.
