The New York University women's tennis team dropped to 6–4 on the season after a 4–1 loss to Williams College on Saturday, April 5, in Williamstown, MA. The match was played to decision, with two singles contests going unfinished once Williams clinched the win.
The Violets struggled in doubles, dropping all three matches as Williams secured the opening point.
NYU picked up its lone point in singles as Jimena Menendez earned a straight-sets victory at No. 1, defeating Yuu Ishikawa 6–3, 6–3.
The rest of the lineup couldn't break through. Norah Staunton fell at No. 5, and Victoria Wang dropped a hard-fought three-setter at No. 3, 7–5, 4–6, 6–2. Isabella Hartman also came up short in a back-and-forth match at No. 2, losing 6–3, 0–6, 6–3.
Aditi Narayan's match at No. 4 singles was unfinished at 6–2, 4–4, and Siona Vallabhaneni's match at No. 6 did not begin.
NYU will return to action on Sunday, April 6, when it travels to Wellesley, MA, to face Wellesley College at 11:00 AM.
