The New York University women's tennis team earned a 5–2 victory over the University of Rochester on Sunday, April 13, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx, NY. The win came on Senior Day and marked a strong finish to the regular season for the Violets.
NYU came out strong in doubles, claiming the opening point with wins on courts one and two. Isabella Hartman and Siona Vallabhaneni earned a hard-fought 7–6(1) victory at No. 1, while Jimena Menendez and Emma Kast secured a 6–4 win at No. 2. The Violets dropped the match at No. 3, but their two wins were enough to clinch the doubles point.
In singles, Menendez battled at the top spot and prevailed 6–1, 7–5. Hartman responded with a steady 6–4, 6–2 win at No. 2, and Victoria Wang dominated at No. 3 with a 6–1, 6–0 performance.
Vallabhaneni added another point at No. 5 with a 6–2, 6–0 victory. Kast dropped a close match at No. 6, falling 2–6, 7–6, [11–9].
The Violets now turn their attention to postseason play, closing out the regular season with momentum and a strong showing on their home courts.
