The New York University baseball team faced Dean College in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 8, at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park on Staten Island, NY.
The Violets won the first game 12-6 and the second 7-3.
After two scoreless innings in the opener, Dean struck first in the third by plating four runs.
NYU responded immediately in the bottom half of the inning by scoring six runs. Harrison Blueweiss was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, Nick Argenziano followed with a single, and both wound up scoring on errors. Connor Roggero soon delivered the biggest swing of the inning, delivering a grand slam scoring Kosta Mocklis, Nate Pallotta and Cam Dunn to put NYU ahead 6-4.
The Violets extended their lead in the fourth when Mocklis singled to drive in Dunn, making it 7-4. In the fifth, Blueweiss doubled to bring home Dakota Barbet, giving NYU an 8-4 advantage.
Dean pulled a run back in the sixth, but NYU broke the game open with a four-run eighth. Dunn scored on a passed ball before Roggero tripled in Bobby Kuenzler. Max Oliveira followed with a two-run double scoring Roggero, and CJ Franchini capped the inning with an RBI groundout, pushing the lead to 12-5.
Dean added one more run in the ninth.

Aidan Pawlak started for the Violets and went five innings without allowing an earned run.
