The NYU women's swimming and diving team concluded the 2025 NYU Fall Invitational on Saturday, November 8, with two final sessions to close out the weekend.
The Violets maintained their day-one lead, taking first with 650 points, followed by Stevens (293) and Drew (97). The divers from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) totaled 28 points over four events.
The five relay entries by the Violets finished in letter order in the opening event, the 200 medley relay. The NYU "A" team (
Nicole Ranile,
Babette Bradley,
Reina Gomez,
Lian Jeong Engle) clocked in at 1:47.04, besting the "B" by just under a second.
Gomez made it two straight wins in the next event - the 100 butterfly. Gomez bested Ranile by just 0.03 seconds for the win. NYU's
Maeve O'Donnell took third with a 57.64 time.
Zeynep Tokuz led the field in the 400 individual medley, clocking in at 4:36.62. Her teammates
Bethany Spangler (4:36.74) or
Calista Lynch (4:41.19) filled out the podium places.
The Violets filled up the leaderboard again in the 200 freestyle, with
Emery Muller (1:54.30), Jeong Engle (1:56.56) and
Aanya Wala (1:57.32) finishing in order at the top of the final standings.
Freshmen were out in front in the 100 breaststroke, as Violet rookies Bradley (1:06.07),
Sammy Wong (1:07.13) and
Sophia Liwanag (1:08.13) finished 1-2-3.
Known for her freestyle skills,
Kaley McIntyre posted a win in the 100 backstroke with a 57.28 time. O'Donnell (57.49) beat out Ranile (57.54) for second place by just five milliseconds.
The Violets capped the morning session with a win in the 800 freestyle relay. McIntyre, Ranile, Wala and Muller clocked in at 7:48.23 as the "A" relay, with the NYU "B" and "C" in second and third places.
The divers took to the pool after the conclusion of the morning swims for the three-meter competition.
Katherine Taylor scored her first win of the season with a 307.28 score, followed by
Meera Kasturi and
Isabella Reyes.

he afternoon session kicked off with the mile swim. Muller (17:42.04) and Wala (17:50.62) led the field in the longest race of the day.
Alice Ciobanu (18:22.59) secured the Violet 1-2-3.
Eloise Emig took first in the lone heat of the 200 backstroke swim. Her time (2:03.05) was just over 0.6 seconds better than teammate
Sarah Pierson (2:03.68), who took second ahead of
Calista Lynch (2:06.67).
McIntyre continued to be a force in the sprint races, winning the 100 freestyle by nearly 1.6 seconds with a 51.14 time. Jeong Engle (52.71) and
Molly Sleman (54.11) finished second and third, respectively.
Bradley (2:23.18) and Wong (2:24.26) repeated as first and second in the final breaststroke race of the day, the 200 breaststroke. Fellow Violet Kate Steinmeier took third, finishing in 2:26.90.
The Violets filled up the leaderboard on the final individual race of the day, the 200 butterfly, with the five fastest times. Ranile led the way with a 2:03.08 finish, followed by Gomez (2:05.39) and
Lina Wordelman (2:09.04).
The NYU "A" team posted a dominant win in the 400 freestyle relay to close out the day. McIntyre, Ranile, Jeong Engle and Sleman combined for a 3:30.12 finish, besting their "C" by more than 10 seconds in second place.
NYU returns to action Nov. 21-23 at UChicago's Phoenix Fall Classic.
