Men's Tennis Faces Swarthmore

Violets Complete Competition at Invite

The New York University men's tennis team completed its weekend competition, facing host Swarthmore College on Sunday, September 22, in Swarthmore, PA.

In a non-team-scoring competition, the Violets produced two winning doubles matches and one singles victory.

Nithin Sankar and Zachary Freier took their doubles match 8-6, while Jingyuan Chen and Bryan Hui were victorious 8-5.

NYU's singles victory came via Ryan Shayani, who outdid his opponent 6-4, 7-6 (3). 

Both Sankar (4-6, 6-2, 10-2) and Boren Zheng (4-6, 7-5, 12-10) took their opponents to a tie-breaking third set.

The squad returns to action for the ITA Northeast Regional Championships from Friday-Sunday, September 27-29, at Drew University in Madison, NJ.
