The New York University men's tennis team completed its weekend competition, facing host Swarthmore College on Sunday, September 22, in Swarthmore, PA.
In a non-team-scoring competition, the Violets produced two winning doubles matches and one singles victory.
Nithin Sankar and
Zachary Freier took their doubles match 8-6, while
Jingyuan Chen and
Bryan Hui were victorious 8-5.
NYU's singles victory came via
Ryan Shayani, who outdid his opponent 6-4, 7-6 (3).
Both Sankar (4-6, 6-2, 10-2) and
Boren Zheng (4-6, 7-5, 12-10) took their opponents to a tie-breaking third set.
The squad returns to action for the ITA Northeast Regional Championships from Friday-Sunday, September 27-29, at Drew University in Madison, NJ.
