Violet Duo Complete Play at NCAA Tennis

Fordham/Hartman Fall in Quarterfinals

The New York University tandem of Dakota Fordham and Isabella Hartman were in action at the NCAA Division III Individual Championships on Sunday, May 26, in St. Louis, MO.

The doubles tournament featured 16 pairings, with Fordham and Hartman winning their opening match on Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals.

Sunday's match was competitive throughout, but the Violets' duo fell to #1-ranked Nikolina Batoshvili and Alisha Chulani of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges 6-3, 7-5, as the NYU season came to an end.

"The women played well. They went toe-to-toe with the number one team in the nation. It was a break each set that decided it," said Head Coach Horace Choy. "We got off to a good start and got up, but the other team is good and they got more aggressive and got themselves back into the first set. We matched their aggression in the second set and a couple of points was the difference."

There was no team scoring.
