The New York University men's basketball team traveled to Jamaica, Queens, to face York College on Saturday, November 23, and delivered a commanding performance, earning a dominant 112-56 victory.
The Violets remain undefeated at 4-0.
NYU took control early and never relaxed. The Violets displayed a strong offensive showing that included a 25-48 (52.1%) shooting performance from beyond the arc as well as assists on 33 of the team's 40 made shots.
The 25 three-pointers set a program record, which was set last season (24) against Brooklyn College.
NYU built a substantial 61-12 lead by halftime, propelled by a relentless defensive effort and efficient shooting. The largest lead came midway through the second half, stretching to 62 points.
The Violets produced five double-digit scorers in the game. Brock Susko led the way with 20 points and eight rebounds, while adding two assists and a steal.
Bryan Moussako chipped in with a career-high 14 points, including 4-of-8 from three-point range.
Hampton Sanders added 12 points on perfect shooting (5-of-5 FG, 2-of-2 FT), while dishing out four assists.
Zay Freeney and Matt Volkening each scored 11 points, while Jonathan Sigurdsson had nine and four rebounds.
Josh Menard contributed eight points, eight assists and five rebounds.
Defensively, NYU showcased its prowess by holding York to just 33.8% (22-of-65) shooting from the field. The Violets also dominated the boards, out-rebounding York 44-27.
The Violets are back in action this Tuesday, November 26, when they travel to Farmingdale, NY, to take on the Farmingdale State College Rams with tip-off scheduled for 5:30pm.
