The University Athletic Association (UAA) announced its All-UAA Soccer awards on Monday, November 18, and 10 members of New York University's men's and women's teams were recognized.
For the women,
Bryce Chan,
Kelli Keady and
Eileen Xu were named to the First Team while
Rachel Kim and
Hope Neale received Honorable Mention status.
For the men,
Nathan Bennett was named to the First Team while
Ahmed Ibrahim and
Bryce Lexow were selected to the Second Team.
Joss Cohen and
Jackson McCloskey earned Honorable Mention status.
Headed for the NCAA Championship Tournament Sweet 16 for the second consecutive season, the women's team (12-2-6) is led in scoring by Keady, a forward who has 10 goals (5th in the UAA), nine assists (1st in the UAA ) and 29 points (4th in the UAA). Chan (midfield) and Xu (defense) have helped NYU hold its opponents to just 14 goals in 20 games. Chan also has chipped in with a goal and assist, while Xu has two assists to her credit.
Neale (midfield) has compiled three goals and two assists, while Kim (defense) has contributed two goals and an assist.
On the men's side, Bennett (forward), who was named UAA Freshman Rookie of the Year in 2021, finished second on the team with six goals and 14 points. His highlight game of the season came against Sarah Lawrence on October 2, where he scored two goals on five shots and notched an assist.
Lexow (forward) led the Violets (6-6-3) with nine goals (2nd in the UAA), 41 shots (3rd in the UAA), 21 shots on goal (3rd in the UAA), and was second with six assists (3rd in the UAA). Ibrahim (midfield) totaled three goals, four assists and a team-leading shots-on-goal percentage of 0.640.
McCloskey recorded 66 saves in goal, earning a 0.776 save percentage and three shutouts, while Cohen (defense)
played in 12 games and notched an assist against Carnegie Mellon (11/3).
