NYU Women’s Fencing Falls against Harvard

Violets Lose in Cambridge

The New York University women's fencing team, ranked 22nd in the NCAA, made their way from Waltham, MA, to Cambridge, MA, on Sunday, January 28, to take on 3rd-ranked Harvard University.

The Violets couldn't keep up with the #3 Crimson, as NYU's epee team lost 8-1, foil lost 9-0 and although Leanne Chan, Sharon Ni and Hannah Hoverman notched one victory each, the saber team still fell 6-3.

"It's never easy going up against a decorated program like Harvard. We knew that in order to come out on top we needed the most we could possibly get from all three weapons," said Head Coach Ben Bratton.

NYU will return to action on Saturday, February 10th, in Chapel Hill, NC, for the Tar Heel Duels. The duels commence at 8:00 am.
