Men's Tennis Wraps Up Haverford/Swarthmore Invitational

Violets Post Six Victories on Sunday

New York University's men's tennis team competed against Haverford College on Sunday to conclude the their weekend at the Haverford/Swarthmore Invitational in Haverford, PA.

Of the three doubles matches between the two teams, NYU won two.

The pair of Louis Frowein and Jingyuan Chen won 8-6 against the Squirrels while Cooper Smith and Zachary Freier teamed up to post an 8-5 win.

Frowein also won his second match of the day, recording 6-2, 6-4 in singles play.

Max O'Malley ( 1-6, 6-2, 10-7), Devan Sabapathy (8-1) and Haidyn Green ( 8-2) added three more victories to the Violets' weekend.

"The men competed hard and played well but didn't necessarily get the results that we wanted," said Head Coach Horace Choy. "However, I think they're rounding into form at the right time with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional next weekend. Competition will be very strong but we have the ability to make some noise at that tournament."

The men's tennis team will next compete at the ITA Regional Championship from September 29 to October 1.
