The New York University men's tennis team dropped to 6-6 in dual meets this season after falling to Babson College 8-1 on Saturday, April 15, in Babson Park, MA.
The Violets struggled to find their footing against Babson. In the doubles round, they lost two of three matches to the Beavers.
Boren Zheng and
Alexander Lee took home the Violets' lone win, taking No. 2 doubles 8-3.
In the singles round, the NYU were unable to record a victory as the Beavers won four of the six matches in straight sets. At the No. 1 spot, Zheng put forth an excellent performance, taking his opponent to three sets. But, he was unable to seal the deal and fell 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
"This weekend was a great measuring stick for us as we prepare for post season play," commented Assistant Coach
Chanmeet Singh Narang. "Unfortunately the matches didn't go our way, but our boys have lots of to be proud of. I couldn't be happier of how they have come together as a family and how they are battling for each other on each court. That will serve us well at UAAs and we will be ready to compete! I have no doubt our best is yet to come."
The Violets are back in action at the University Athletic Association (UAA ) Championship Friday-Sunday, April 21-23, in Altamonte Springs, FL.
